Organizations that meet the requirements of Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3) are exempt from federal income tax as charitable organizations. In addition, contributions made to charitable organizations by individuals and corporations are deductible under Internal Revenue Code §170.

Effective as of April 26, 2004, the Fond Land Preservation Foundation was granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.

Effective as of December 5, 2005, the Fond Land Preservation Foundation was granted an exemption by the California Franchise Tax Board under §23701d of the Revenue & Taxation Code.
